The San José del Cabo Art District is the cultural heart of the Los Cabos corridor — a compact, walkable neighborhood in the historic centro where independent galleries, artist studios, folk art shops, and restaurants share the same colonial-era streetscape. It's genuinely different from anything in Cabo San Lucas.
The Thursday evening Art Walk (November through June) is when the district comes fully alive — galleries stay open late, artists are present, street musicians play, and the entire centro fills with visitors and locals navigating between openings. It's one of the better free things to do in Los Cabos and worth planning your Thursday around.

Fine Art
The San José del Cabo Art District has several established fine art galleries representing both local Baja artists and Mexican contemporary painters from across the country. Original paintings, sculpture, photography, and mixed media are all represented. Prices range from a few hundred to several thousand dollars.
Folk Art
Traditional Mexican folk art — Oaxacan wood carvings, huichol beadwork, Talavera pottery, and hand-painted ceramics — is available from dedicated folk art shops in and around the centro. The quality is generally higher than what you'd find in the Cabo San Lucas market stalls.
Photography
Several galleries in the district specialize in fine art photography — predominantly landscape, wildlife, and cultural photography from Baja California Sur and mainland Mexico. Print sizes range from small to large-format. Shipping and framing services available at most.
Jewelry & Craft
Artist-run jewelry studios occupy several storefronts in the district — handmade silver, semi-precious stone work, and one-of-a-kind pieces from independent designers. A significant step above the mass-produced silver in the Cabo marina market.
